I am a mother to a beautiful four year-old girl, a wife to an amazing husband. I also blog and write about all things mental health, lifestyle and parenting.
“It’s sad that it takes being diagnosed with a Mental Illness, to be told you need to look after your Well-being. I sat and thought. Did I really look after it before I was diagnosed!”
“Life is precious and even though we want to live it to the fullest, we must look after ourselves, whether we suffer with an illness or not.”
My story, well where do I start. I guess you will read most of it via my blog. Short version, I suffered a traumatic birth and was diagnosed with, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Postnatal Depression (PND)
My intent is to raise awareness for others like me. I share the ups and downs of being a parent in the hope, new parents can be better prepared along the way. I always try to be as open and honest as I can, so others can relate. My Birth Experience
You learn so much from interacting with charities and communities that support people with a mental illness. I have sat and thought about how the things people have said have resonated with me.
It helps me, thatβs why I took to blogging. I worked with Pandas Foundation a perinatal mental illness charity for 3 years managing their social media and fundraising.
I am actually writing a book at the moment. Yay! Hope you find my content useful.
Thank you for taking the time to visit Mummy Thomas’ Blog. x
Beautiful! I definitely feel that mental health needs to be talked about more.

Lovely Post! I completely agree, knowing people who have suffered in silence for a long time – more needs to be done/said about the mental health stigma. What an amazing thing you are doing! Totally admire you π

Found you through Bloggers Tribe. I wish I had gotten help 30 years ago as a new mom struggling with a lot of issues. I think I would have done so much better, been so much healthier for my children. Now as they are adult or near adults, I support them doing what they need to do to put themselves first before they can truly be there for their future families. Good luck with your book.

Thank you soich Sam. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. You sound like a wonderful supportive mother. I really hope that the MH services improve soon. Until I was diagnosed I had no idea how many parents suffer. Xx
