Our Bank Holiday Weekend

It’s been so nice to have hubby off for three days. Our little girl has loved it. She is very much a daddy’s girl.

We decided to head off to the beach for the day and do a bit of shopping to. We even enjoyed a cheeky pizza hut.

The sun was beaming, it was lovely. Fresh air, sun and pizza what more do I need. Oh and spending time with the family of course ha! It was great fun.

I always worry, when we plan to do things.

What if I have a bad day and spoil their day. I’ve put on a fake smile before and I felt worse for it. Now I’m completely open about it. If I’m feeling low, I’ll just tell him. I guess that’s where my anxiety kicks in. What if I’m ill or what if I don’t want to go. Will our little one be safe?

The list goes on.

We had a lovely time though, In the end all was good.

We made sand castles on the beach and played with the rugby ball. She loved it. She was diving in the sand and burrying her feet.

Sunday we decided to have more of a relaxed day and spent it in the garden. We dug up all the un wanted plants, it felt like it took forever. But it was fun just spending time with the three of us. My garden looked a little like a jungle. Opps. But it now looks so much better. We can actually sit outside and enjoy it.

It’s been on my long list of things to do. We had a tesco delivery to, full of yummy food and treats. As soon as the door bell goes she shouts ‘food mummy’ now she does this everytime the door bell goes. So embarrassing, god knows what they must think.

I can hear them now.

‘That women who lives at…. Starves her child. Poor thing gets so excited when I deliver their food’

Amazon delivery man.

‘gosh that women at number… Everytime I have delivered a parcel the poor kid shouts food’

Kids say the most funniest of things, always at the wrong time. I’ve decided I just have to laugh it off now, rather than explain my self. Like the other day when we were in macdonalds there was a group of lads talking and at the top of her voice she shouts mummy their talking about crystols. When Infact they were talking about bristol. I went bright red ha.

I just want to say we don’t just feed her junk food, honestly. She had a treat as she got lots of stickers for being good at nursery. Then the pizza, well its bank holiday Weekend, shhhhh.

Monday we decided to go for a picnic in the forest. It was so hot. The little one loved it. I think it’s quite therapeutic. Just walking through the forest, so much wildlife.

Later that day we ended up back in the garden digging again. It’s amazing how much frustration and anger you can let out on your garden. Good for your mental wellbeing.

In the evening we decided to relax and watch a film. The sunset was lovely.

It was a lovely family weekend. What did you get up to?

  1. Your Bank Holiday weekend sounds a lot like mine! I think everyone visited the beach and did some gardening! That walk through the forest and pizza sounds great too. Let’s hope the next one is even just a fraction as nice as this one!

  3. OMG is that your garden? Or is that a photo of an actual jungle? Glad you had a nice bank holiday. I donโ€™t really see the significance in bank holidays – theyโ€™re all the same as every other day to me and my partner always works them.

  4. Yes, the bank holiday was wonderful. We had such a relaxing time. We didn’t really do very much. Cygnet had chicken pox. We went to the garden centre and then to my parents for a bbq on the monday, but it was really nice not to be at work. Pen x #thesatsesh

  5. Awww it does sound like a lovely weekend. Getting outdoors is so good for the soul – adults and children enjoy the fresh air, whether it be the beach, woods or digging in the garden! We had picnics out, met with friends and got the paddling pool out in the garden too – the weather certainly helped! #thesatsesh xx
